How it works
The Laughing Hour offers opportunities to laugh together for an hour...
HOW FUN !
More commonly known as laughter yoga, this laughing technique does not require anyone to tell daddy jokes and practice their stand-up comedy show. In fact, all it relies on is YOUR willingness to laugh.
Simple! And yes, sometimes this will result into fake laughter. However, we all know laughing is contagious therefore the group effect will work it's magic to having everyone laugh.
How is the hour structured ?
There are variations on what laughing exercises will be practiced during the Laughing Hour depending on the group size, average age, and the intention behind the practice.
Typical hour outline :
-
Introduction to the practice
-
Walking our way through laughing exercises
-
Laughing, laughing, and more laughing
-
Relaxation through breathing and visualization
-
Bringing more laughter in our daily lives
Why book an hour ?
Let's get a tad scientific here. Your brain can't tell the difference between a fake laugh and a real laugh. Therefore the benefits from laughing out loud for absolutely no reason are the same whether you are faking it or not.
Research shows that laughing helps with stress release, boosts the immune system, increases endorphine and serotonin levels, and favours team bonding.
